I have perhaps played around with painting and drawing most of my life from an early age. However, it wasn't until recently that my work began to take on a more personal meaning with hidden messages and obvious messages as well. When I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) about fourteen years ago, it started out as a slight pain on the left side of my face, but as time went on, like the disease, the pain became worse and to the point that I couldn't function. It had affected every aspect of my life. I began expressing my pain in my art work, poetry, and writing. I have undergone two brain surgeries which have lessened the pain a great deal, but to this day it has shown it's ugly head almost daily. In addition to this condition, I was diagnosed with cancer and I recently undergone one surgery and the treatments continue. All in all, TN is a far more painful condition.
