Mary Vorhes
I have enjoyed creating art for most of my life. I began taking photos of people and of nature when I was in grade school and got my first camera. I continue taking photos of nature now and find it very life-giving. Creating art gives me life and I find I am able to use painting to help feel more peace and joy in my life. I am grateful when I can turn to art to help myself feel better. Nature is my inspiration, be it butterflies, flowers, birds and other nature scenes. I often use my photography as inspiration for my paintings. I like to paint using acrylic and watercolor and a combination of them both. I also love to take photos. I enjoy sharing my art with others and feel honored when friends and family compliment me on my art.
