About the Artist

Zach Schwartz

Zachary Schwartz is a fresh, creative mind whose illustrations capture space trapped in time. Inspired by his love for ghosts, aliens, and the paranormal, Zach makes art about the ?things that are unexplained, but ... are still here.? His minimalist style allows the viewer to fill in the details and evokes a sense of mystery and unease. About his most recent piece, A Ghostly Reminder, Zach comments: ?There are the real ones, and there are the ghosts. It?s a ghost print.? Ghost prints are a printmaking technique where you pull another print before applying more ink to the plate. Zach experimented with many printmaking techniques while in residency at the Highpoint Center for Printmaking in 2024. This past year, Zach directed his first movie, Boy Band in a Haunted Hotel, a comedy-horror short film. Zach lives in Minneapolis where he has been making art for 20 years at PRI, a day services program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
