About the Artist
Rochelle Anderson
Rochelle Anderson is a Minnesota native, and loves visiting the North Shore of Lake Superior, attending plays and Twins games. She had a severe stroke in 2007. As a consequence, Rochelle has aphasia and right-sided weakness. She creates her art to promote understanding of aphasia. She makes mixed media for this show, writes poetry, and displays her crop art at the Minnesota State Fair, and has been published in three poetry chapbooks. These activities improve her weakness of her hand, and help her continue to overcome her aphasia. Rochelle's works this year demonstrate the puzzle of aphasia along with a poem, and the other presents a more humorous take on aphasia in a shadow box.
