About the Artist

Delora Fiers

Completing a BFA in Fine Art developed my skills for visually expressing ideas. I cast handmade paper pulp on molds to create sculptural pieces of art. Cancer treatment taught me patience. Permanent nerve and muscle damage limits my ability to stand, walk or work for sustained periods of time. When making art, I am fully present in the moment. I can push chronic pain into the background. My artistic intent is to demonstrate the need for balance in all things. Making art allows me to celebrate life, be creative and share what do.
