Eugene Soh
Eugene Soh is a Singaporean artist whose creative practice has been shaped by resilience, adaptation, and lifelong perseverance. After undergoing a major spinal cord operation in 1981 to remove a blockage, Eugene has used a wheelchair for mobility ever since. Painting became part of life again after rehabilitation, growing into a meaningful and sustaining practice. Over the years, art has provided companionship through many quiet and lonely nights, offering solace and grounding for the spirit. Creating allows Eugene to process experience and remain deeply connected to a sense of purpose. Participation in this art show represents an important opening, creating space to share artistic passion with a wider audience. For Eugene, exhibiting work publicly affirms art as both personal healing and a powerful way to connect across distance, culture, and circumstance.
