About the Artist
Susan Martin
Hello, my name is Susan Todd Martin and I am an artist. Creating art is essential to my continued healing, as an artist who battles with PTSD and all the aftereffects of physical and emotional trauma. Also, as a Bipolar Artist, I am able to direct my manic episodes into engaging and expressive art. I love adding surreal elements, animals and nature to my art. Often I am immobilized by pain, and this goes hand in hand with depressive episodes. I can express my grief and sadness in drawings and poems, and by decorating small found items in a dizzying array of electric color and pattern. My art is often called "hipp" or "trippy" and I love this Bohemian and eclectic style. My home, where I live with my blind Shih Tzu, Kleo and "The Rescue Cat Gang" is also very colorful and full of my whimsical garden art. I'm always so happy to participate in this amazing art show.
