My photograph, "Blue Sky Creek," emerges from a singular vision; it captures and refines a subject to freeze a fleeting moment. Photography, whether film or digital, plays a crucial role in my journey of recovery. As a survivor of a traumatic brain injury over 20 years ago, I actively participate in the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance Speakers Bureau and lead the Golden Valley Courage Kenny Brain Injury Support Group. I have been passionate about photography since 1968, but following a traumatic brain injury in 2003, it transformed into more than just art—it became a vital part of how I navigate life. I am drawn to scenes others might overlook, approaching each not merely as a document but as a portrait, striving to print each photograph as accurately and faithfully as possible. Additionally, I serve as the facilitator for the Courage Kenny Brain Injury Support Group and contribute as a member of the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance Speakers Bureau, reinforcing my commitment to support and advocacy within the brain injury community.
