Tina Kabage
Tina Kabage, pursued the arts with dedication, later earned a degree in Art and Design. In 2007, her life took a challenging turn when she contracted Lyme disease. Undiagnosed for extended period of time, the delay developed into Dystonia and CRPS, a rare disease of the nervous system. Living with a physical disability has taught her to accept the unknown and watercolor; has done the same. Unpredictable and fluid, the medium mirrors her life living with a rare disease: unbalanced, uncertain, and constantly shifting. Through painting, she learned to embrace imperfection, and develop patience with both the process and herself. As her painting evolved due to her disabilities, she stopped resisting change and began seeing it as growth. “The closer I bond with the medium, the more I’ve come to accept my disabilities” The ability to create, display, sell, and donate her artwork has helped Tina forge a new identity, offering her a profound sense of purpose.
