Frederick M Wong
Fredrick M. Wong is a photographer whose work reflects a long journey of self‑understanding and creative focus. Living with Bipolar Affective Disorder since his teenage years, Fredrick has spent decades learning how to calm and balance his mind through the study and appreciation of visual art, particularly photography and music. He is especially attuned to color, rhythm, pattern, and mood, elements that strongly shape his practice. In the photographic series Bungalow, Fredrick explores the atmosphere of a dance club in Hong Kong, a global city defined by energy, movement, and contrast. The images focus on shifting light, bodies in motion, and the interplay between architecture and sound‑driven environments. Rather than documenting spectacle, the work examines how people seek escape, release, and connection within urban spaces shaped by contemporary culture. Through photography, Fredrick transforms complex sensory experience into composed visual rhythm, using art as a means of reflection, grounding, and creative clarity.
