JobyLynn Sassily-James
JobyLynn Sassily-James is an autistic artist based in the NE Minneapolis arts district, where she creates her work in the safety of her own live/work space. Due to additional diagnoses, navigating the world outside her creative space can be overwhelming, even with the support of her mental health providers. She describes venturing beyond her sanctuary as an experience that feels like being electrocuted, with far more energy than she can safely absorb.
In her artwork, JobyLynn often uses a palette of electrifying colors that she feels ?matches her brain.? Her series, ?brain circuits,? reflects the inside of her mind and serves as a calming tool that allows her to focus on other projects.
