Katherine Cooper
Kat Cooper is an artist that likes to explore feminist themes through the trials of being a woman with a disability. Cooper also creates a sense of empathy and understanding between disabled and non-disabled people by creating work that displays themes of overcoming trials within oneself and adding braille to make her works multi textural as well as accessible on multiple levels. Cooper likes to use mediums such as oil and acrylic paint mixed with unusual mediums such as cold wax, hot glue, and puff paint. She uses a combination of these mediums to create tactile works full of depth that can be enjoyed by both sight and touch.
