About the Artist
Cynthia Blumberg
Cynthia Blumberg, a self-taught photographer and digital artist from New York, found art in 2016 as a means to express her struggles with severe depression and Dissociative Identity Disorder. After therapy sessions, she began taking photos weekly. By 2019, Cynthia had joined Fountain House, a psychosocial clubhouse in NYC, and their gallery, where she sold her first piece in November of that year. The COVID-19 pandemic brought the loss of her stepdad and a decline in her photography, but she pivoted to digital art, selling her first digital piece in 2021. In June of 2022, Cynthia moved back to Florida due to losing mobility from severe scoliosis. Now using a wheelchair, she has focused on honing her skills in digital art. Despite the challenges, Cynthia is determined to continue telling her story.
