Kelly Vlasak
Kelly Vlasak artwork explores shared human experience through personal reflection and emotional storytelling. Living with Type One Diabetes has shaped how Kelly moves through the world, deepening awareness of vulnerability, resilience, and the body’s limitations. Art has become both a creative outlet and a form of therapy. After experiencing burnout while studying art at the University of Minnesota, Kelly stepped away from creating for a period of time. Recently, returning to art has allowed a gradual rebuilding of that relationship and a renewed sense of joy in the process. Kelly’s work reflects emotions many people quietly carry, including drifting friendships, falling in and out of love, questions of self‑worth, and the beauty found in small, fleeting moments. Through art, Kelly hopes to create connection and remind viewers that the struggles and joys of simply existing are experiences we all share.
