About the Artist

Don Whittecar

Don's passion lies in documenting the beauty of his subject matter, primarily threatened and endangered species of wildlife. His medium, copperplate engraving, is also disappearing. While most people are aware of conservation efforts for wildlife, and their habitats, few are aware of the need to preserve vanishing are forms. Wildlife Art News, an international publication, has cited Don as one of only seven or eight Wildlife Art engravers currently practicing worldwide. (Wildlife Art News, Artist Edition, 2004.)
