About the Artist
Danny Ewert
Living with Kennedy's disease and navigating life from a wheelchair, I've embraced technology to continue my artistic expression, turning to an iPad for drawing due to the general body weakness that prevents me from applying the necessary pressure for colored pencil work. Before this, my creative journey included a significant chapter in artistic competitive hairdressing, where I was part of the team that clinched the USA's first gold and later trained the silver-winning team. This unique form of art taught me the essentials of form, balance, execution, and adaptability—principles I apply daily in my current artwork. My style, which I describe as "non-realistic realism," is all about my personal interpretation of subjects, imbuing them with motion and life that even a century-old artist friend, met during rehab, noticed, saying I make "flowers dance." To me, art is not just a personal refuge but a gift to be shared, a belief that guides my journey as I adapt and evolve my methods to keep creating.
