About the Artist
Doug Miller
Growing up in the southwest United States, I have always been fascinated by the artwork left by the ancient inhabitants of the region. The designs on ancient pot sherds, as well as those found as "rock art" on cliff faces. Much of my work is inspired by that fascination, featuring geometric patterns?some of my own design, and others drawn from the ancient visual language passed down by those early artists, whom I consider my mentors. My art does not stop there, though. I love winter snow scenes and watching out my window to see wildlife in their natural habitat. I naturally seek out the beauty in all that I see and try to incorporate that beauty in my art.
