Debbie Huff

Art fills a creative need in me. I am an artist who has been painting for five years with alcohol inks. I have a personal interest in painting wildlife, animals, and flowers from my local area. Sometimes I find myself painting abstracts because I just like the bright colors. More recently, I have started to draw with colored pencils and pastels. I was born with visual impairments from which I am legally blind in one eye and have limited vision in my “good” eye. My depth, peripheral, and distance vision is different from full-sighted people which causes me to focus more on the subject in my paintings rather than the background. I use a computer as a tool enlarge a photograph so I can paint the details, and I paint for a couple of hours a day to reduce eye strain.
