About the Artist
Jim Bjorneby
Jim Bjorneby is a self-taught artist who got his start drawing people he observed in the group home he lived in during his younger years. Jim is an avid reader, devouring a biography or autobiography almost every week. His recent body of work is a series of portraits inspired by the artists and historical figures he reads about- sometimes even using his book covers as his reference images! Jim believes that art is good for the mind and he makes art because ?it helps [him] to know that there are others who share the same kind of problems [he does].? Jim has exhibited work at Mudluk gallery and works out of the art studio at PRI- a day program serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He would like to thank his sister for the inspiration and support.
