Deanna Lamour
Deanna Lamour is a self‑taught painter whose work blends abstract form with imagined landscapes and cityscapes. Painting has been part of Deanna’s life for more than thirty years, offering joy, refuge, and creative freedom. After a near‑fatal motorcycle accident caused lasting physical pain, vertigo, limited mobility, and emotional challenges, art became a place where the body could momentarily be forgotten. Working primarily with acrylic paint, Deanna builds layers of bright color and movement that invite viewers into imaginative spaces beyond boundaries. Creating allows focus on possibility rather than restriction, transforming experience into visual energy. Sharing this work publicly has been empowering, offering safety and encouragement through community. Deanna’s paintings reflect resilience, imagination, and the belief that art can offer expansion even when life demands adaptation.
