Paula Davidovich
In 2016 I contracted acute flaccid myelitis (AFM), a polio-like illness that causes paralysis. It left me confined to a wheelchair, with paralysis in my arms and legs and a profound weakness in my (dominant) right hand. As part of my therapy at Courage Kenny, I was given an easel and paint set. As a lifelong painter, I began learning to paint with my non-dominant left hand. Art has been therapeutic for my body and mind as I continue to develop my left-handed skills and work toward independence and recovery. I live in Northeast Minneapolis with my son Maxwell and my dog, Atlas, and work as a marketing manager for a medical device company.
Art on display at Courage Kenny and online gallery.
