Victoria General
Based in Toronto, Canada, I am ?differently abled? and have lived with chronic pain and certain lower limb limitations for the last fourteen years. While difficult, my situation has also propelled me to have a true appreciation for the good moments in my life. My condition has also affected my work in so many ways? if there is one particular intention behind my art, I think it is to hold onto those essential human needs: a sense of encouragement, hope, and relatability. Everything is connected, and none of us are ever truly alone. My work often focuses on a figurative narrative theme, and I incorporate my life-long love of literature and history into my practice while utilizing various mediums. Ultimately, my work is inspired by my love of life and a desire to display relatability. Both my figurative and landscape pieces have been exhibited internationally and are held in private collections around the world.
