Zach Manuel
"Zach joined Make Studio in 2012. He brought with him a strong interest in comics, animation, and science fiction. He draws his inspiration from animation as well as real life, increasingly nature and animals; and often weaves reflections about art-making, dreams, emotional states, and his personal experiences of autism into his artwork.
Zach’s work has been exhibited at the 33rd Annual Drawing and Print competition at Gormley Gallery, NDMU (2022) and the animal-themed show, “Tails of Comfort” at OCA Mocha (Arbutus, MD, 2024). Zach's autobiographical comics on living with autism were shown in ""Destroy the Gap,"" an exhibition engaging in disability discourse through aesthetics at Bowling Green State University, School of Art in Ohio. Zach also had innovative landscape work in ""Beyond the Horizon: Explorations of Landscape"" at Annmarie Art Center and Sculpture Garden in Solomons, MD. He was a prize winner in the Ellene “Brit” Christiansen Memorial Art Contest 2023."
