Born in 1954, I was interested in many things as a child. Some of my favorite memories are of my father teaching me to sketch and draw. A plant, our turtle, cat or Guinea pig. I have always been interested in art, and have taken art classes in high school along with private oil painting lessons. I have, in recent years, taken many online classes also. I watch videos, read art books, anything that will possibly help me to improve my painting skills. I became a quadriplegic in 1990, the result of a boating accident. After that I practiced painting with the brush grasped between my teeth, as I could no longer use my hands. I have worked in several mediums, including pastel, colored pencils, oils, watercolors and acrylics. I love to work outdoors in the summer, surrounded by nature, where I am serenaded by birdsong and witness to the constant drama of the wildlife around me.
