In homage to our fragile ecosystem, I have painted a mother loon providing life sustaining nutrition to her chick. Geometric lines and brightly colored shapes connect the loons, the rising sun, the water and the waves. This connection defines the interdependence and fragile balance of our ecosystem.
About the Artist
Barb Janisch
Barb Janisch has a lifetime of experience as an artist whose focus is painting. Starting at age 5, she drew a mural on her bedroom wall. Even though her mother was not pleased, Barb knew she was an artist, and it was always in her character to create. Her work has been included in numerous major exhibitions and calendars and has been purchased by collectors, museums, and corporate galleries. Marine wildlife, nautical activity and sacred text are the inspiration for her work. She received her studio art training at the University of Minnesota and Arizona State University. She holds the equivalent of a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Painting.
