About the Artist

Renee Solarz

Renne Solarz has been a painter and a visual artist for over 30 years. She often takes inspiration from her travels, especially the cruises she takes with her family. About her piece Miami, Renee says, “It started from here (gestures to belly) and I saw it when I came out of the airport.” Renee captures the happy colors of the buildings in Miami and uses India ink and markers to render this street scene from her memory. When she is not making art, you can find Renee singing her favorite ABBA songs, whether at karaoke on the cruise or during music classes.
