About the Artist

Renee Solarz

Renne Solarz has been a painter and visual artist for over 30 years. She often takes inspiration from her travels, especially the cruises she takes with her family. About her piece New Orleans, Renee says, ?I believe in art and the music of New Orleans!? Renee captures the vibrant sights and sounds of the city using acrylic paint markers to render this street scene from her memory. She was sure to feature a coffee shop because in her memories of New Orleans, it smells like coffee and flowers. When she is not making art, you can find Renee singing her favorite ABBA songs, spending time with family, or acting in the plays at PRI- a day program in Northeast Minneapolis for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
