About the Artist

Janay Green

My art is deeply influenced by my passions and the extensive research I pour into them. Despite the challenges of living with Cerebral Palsy, particularly limited body movement, I am fortunate to have good use of my hands. This enables me to express myself through pencil work, a medium that allows for the capture of intricate details, showcasing my keen eye for detail. One piece, inspired by MacLeod’s Tables and a story of the same name that captivated me, depicts the table hills on the Isle of Skye—a place I dream of visiting. However, the constraints of my condition make such travel difficult, relegating these dreams to distant hopes. For now, my art serves as a vessel, enabling me to traverse beyond my physical limitations to distant landscapes. Through my work, I hold onto the hope that I will one day be able to explore beyond this continent and experience the world's wonders firsthand.
