About the Artist

Mary Burdick

Hello, my name is Mary Burdick, and art has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. As a child, coloring books and drawing were my favorite activities, and I vividly recall a time in second grade when my teacher would entice me with large sheets of paper and markers to draw for her, in exchange for focusing on lessons and curbing my doodling. Throughout my education, including some college, I seized every opportunity to enroll in art classes and dabbled in graphic design. Life and part-time jobs eventually took precedence, leading me to take a break from art. A couple of years ago, I gravitated towards storytelling through illustrations and graphic novel creation. I've completed one graphic novel and am currently working on another, continuing to explore this expressive form.
