Lorna Ritz
Lorna Ritz is an accomplished artist whose journey in the world of art began with her studies in New York City during the 1960s. Lorna earned her BFA, where she specialized in pure abstraction. In 1971, Lorna received her MFA specializing in both painting and sculpture. Her work in sculpture involved welding steel and casting in bronze and iron, a practice she pursued for 25 years. However, over time, painting became her primary focus. Lorna's long art career includes teaching at many universities including the University of Minnesota. Most recently, she has been a lead teacher at the Mount Gretna School of Art in Pennsylvania. “I am a nature painter; the nature “out there” coupled with my own internal landscape. My ideas come from my imagination in a completely improvisational, passionate way.”
