I loved the photo of this abandoned truck so much that I had to paint it. I am very pleased with how it turned out because this a little bit of a departure from my usual themed paintings. But I am thrilled to share it with the public.
About the Artist
Debra Westdorp
My disability started interfering with my life choices at age 26. I was diagnosed with CRPD in 1982. And this year I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in both hands. I had to learn a new way of life as a person with a disability. I learned very early on that I was not alone and joined several groups in the hopes of creating a better life for myself and others. After several treatments and surgeries I met a remarkable woman who inspired me to do more creative projects with her. Learning different ways of adapting to accommodate both our limitations but create beautiful designs. Unfortunately my mentor passed many years ago but her encouragement and supportive spirit is still with me pushing me to try and find new ways to produce the many ideas I have to create. I studied watercolour painting but then I moved on to acrylics and resin work. I am always learning new techniques in painting and resin work. I am excited to share my creative journey with the public.
