As an artist, my work reflects a deeply personal journey through my recent autism diagnosis at the age of 45. It aims to bridge the gap between my unique perception of the world and that of "normal" people, underscoring how this diagnosis has unraveled and reshaped my sense of identity. My art serves as a platform for advocacy and empathy, striving to convey the profound intensity of the autistic experience. My goal is to foster a deeper, more personal understanding of autism, advocating for a more accepting and compassionate world for my son and others like him. Through my art, I aspire to articulate the nuances of being a "functioning" autistic adult, contributing my voice to the broader conversation about autism.
