About the Artist
Paula Davidovich
In 2016, I contracted acute flaccid myelitis (AFM), a polio-like illness. It left me confined to a wheelchair, with paralysis in my arms and legs. In therapy, I was given an easel and paint set. A lifelong painter, I began learning to paint with my left hand. Art has been therapeutic for my body and mind as I continue to develop my left-handed skills and work toward independence and recovery. I live with my son, Maxwell, and my dog, Rosencrantz, and work as a marketing manager for a medical device company.
