About the Artist
When I was a child, I told my mom that I wanted to be an artist, and I always seem to come back to that statement. I have raised kids and taught art classes to many others. I am an artist because painting is the one thing that brings peace to my day. A hip injury has caused me to no longer be able to stand long enough to teach but I refuse for pain to control my life, so instead, I paint. Watercolor is my favorite medium because it flows so gracefully across the page. I like that you can control watercolor only to a point, just like I can only control my life circumstances to a point. I find myself longing to paint subjects that make me happy such as animals and nature. The action of painting often reflects my day. If I choose to focus on being calm, my mood will be reflected in the painting. I hope that when people view my art that they too will feel calm.
Art on display at Courage Kenny and online gallery.
