As a painter, my primary focus lies in the realm of abstract expressionism. I explore the powerful connection between color and emotion. Through the use of color, line, and form in my paintings, I have discovered a transformative way to express my own emotions without relying on words or narratives. The process of painting allows me to release and process my emotions, providing a cathartic outlet for self-expression. As a survivor of childhood trauma, I have grappled with the challenge of establishing a cohesive sense of self. But I found self-discovery comes when I’m on my artistic journey. Through the process of studying, drawing, & creating art based on emotions, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of my own emotional landscape. This artistic exploration of color has enabled me to tap into my own emotions more freely and express them with a newfound courage. It has become a cathartic process of healing, allowing me ultimately find healing and growth.
