Heidi Chaney
Painting is my way of embracing movement?both the controlled and the unpredictable. Living with cerebral palsy and muscle spasms means that every brushstroke carries a life of its own, shaped by intention but also by the unintentional rhythms of my body. Rather than resisting these movements, I welcome them as an essential part of my creative process. Through my art, I hope to challenge ideas of control and mastery in painting, celebrating instead the power of adaptation, spontaneity, and the unique physicality I bring to my work. My paintings are not just images; they are records of experience, energy, and the beauty of letting go.
