About the Artist
Oliver Krueger
Oliver is a queer, disabled printmaker from Wisconsin, currently pursuing their MFA at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. Their artistic practice is influenced by their experiences living with chronic pain due to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a genetic connective tissue disorder. This condition causes their body to often feel fragile and unpredictable, a dynamic that is mirrored in their medium, stone lithography, which can similarly be unpredictable and ever-changing. Through their printmaking, Oliver delves into the complex and often difficult relationship between body and identity, exploring the physical and emotional impacts of living with a chronic illness. Their artwork is a reflection of their struggle to navigate a body that doesn?t always meet their expectations or desires. The work aims to convey sensations of discomfort, desperation, and uncertainty, allowing the viewer to engage with the experience of living with a body that is fluctuating beyond one's control
