Smoke and Storm

Buoyant cloud pouches (called Mammatus clouds) in a smoky sunset sky signaling a storm on the horizon.
About the Artist
I began my art journey when I enrolled in the INSPIRE Camera Club for brain injury and stroke survivors. Having limited mobility, this opened up possibilities for me to participate in outdoor activities in a new way. I have learned to appreciate activities as an observer as symptoms from Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy and a brain injury have impacted my independence. I rely on supports from family, friends, and service providers. I have learned to be creative in capturing images of nature, while relying on family members to be my “photography assistants.” My art influences are photographer Beth Mancuso, my first photography teacher (my nephew Aidan), and photographers David Guttenfelder, Lucy Hawthorne, John Steitz, and Amy Sacka.
Art on display at Courage Kenny and online gallery.
