About the Artist

Eric Sherarts

I began making art as a child; now, it is part of my being and daily life. Art is my best language to express ideas, deep feelings, and experiences. It's where I weave imagination and what I see around me together. I work in mixed media, drawing, painting, digital arts, and mosaic. I use strong, expressive colors. Drawing and graphic arts are my favorite mediums. For Spring Flowers and Spring Becomes Summer I drew images by hand, then used my iMac/digital studio to compose the drawings into scenes and add color. The many kinds and colors of flowers inspired me; I drew them from my imagination. When flowers bloom, I know earth is alive again; everything -including stars and butterflies - is more vibrant. I try to show you that feeling both works. My art has been exhibited in local galleries and nationally. I have Down syndrome, but that is not who I am. I am an artist and Special Olympics athlete. When I make art I am beautiful inside and out. Every day I strive to make my best art
