Linda Frankenstein
Holding a BA in Studio Arts from the University of Minnesota, I've dedicated my artistic journey to the exploration of botanical wonders, striving to encapsulate their ephemeral beauty in acrylics. My work is deeply personal, influenced by my battle with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a degenerative eye condition that erodes peripheral vision and eventually impairs color discrimination and central vision. This progression has inevitably shaped my art; as my vision narrows, the details within my limited sight become magnified in importance. I find myself delving deeper into the intricacies of nature, attempting to convey its splendor through my pieces. This shift has led me to employ bolder colors and more striking contrasts, adapting to my fading ability to perceive subtle hues. The necessity to adjust my techniques and work within time constraints imposed by my condition has been challenging, yet I've found ways to evolve and continue expressing my vision through art.
