About the Artist
Art transports me into a state of mindfulness that creates oneness between the clay and me. As I passionately work with the clay, it is with the hope of it being a visual beauty and a mirrior image of who I am as a person. The intimacy with the clay enables my emotions to emerge spontaneously what words cannot express. My sculptures emerge from my silent world and loneliness created by my hearing loss and bipolar disorder. Being a member of the Duluth Art Institute has been an excellent environment for expressing my creativity. My style of using slabs of clay and shaping it into elephants and horses, then creating texture, and finally glazing. I eagerly await each sculpture as it come out of the gas kiln. They are all different. I take great pride in my sculptures.
Art on display at Courage Kenny and online gallery.
