About the Artist

David Wright

I have loved to draw since preschool years when I displayed my talent by drawing a 3-dimensional dog. My favorite things to draw now are buildings and landscapes. I think that given the opportunity I may have been an architect. I love color so most of my work is very bright. I complete my pieces by hand drawing of the scenes, scanning them into a computer and using photoshop to color and edit my work. The results are whimsical and full of motion. I was born with Trisomy 8, a rare chromosomal disorder that results in an extra number 8 chromosome in my cells. The effect on me has mostly related to speech and language. Since those are not my strengths I use my art to express myself and to reach out to the world. I love movies, travel books, my cats and dog, and my job at HyVee. I have been attending Interact Center for the Arts since I graduated from my Pacer post high school program.
