About the Artist

Joanna Rodriguez

My natural ability gravitates toward photography, yet I love to sketch and paint. I do both well. I am a poet, I am Bipolar, and I was recently diagnosed with a seizure disorder. My inspiration has always been anyone that has overcome adversity in the midst of great misfortune--people like Maya Angelou. There is a common thread between her story and mine. We both have been through terrible things only to come out of it wiser and stronger with the fortitude to carry on--to live and love again.
