This work is an expression the migrants' yearning for a safe society on an earth teeming with diversified, thriving species. Thru the use of deep shades on familiar shapes with intense undercolor, the artist uses a dizzying array of marks by scraffito to illuminate the natural world.
About the Artist
Susan Todd Martin lives in sunny Saint Petersburg with her support dog Kleopatra, and four rescue cats. She is a self taught artist who creates fantastical original art, all freehand. Her imagination is all she needs! Susan works in any medium available to her at the moment, and it is always a moment to create. Living with a Traumatic Brain Injury and daily intractable pain, Susan Todd uses her art as therapy and a source of great joy. Her biographical work at times portrays uncomfortable subjects but in ways that are not harsh or gratuitous. These works are a testimony of survivorship and courage, to encourage and say what can't be spoken aloud.
Art on display at Courage Kenny and online gallery.
