About the Artist
Daniel B Appleby
Daniel Appleby experienced a severe stroke and brain bleed, resulting in paralysis on the right side of his brain and body. This left him unable to walk, talk, or swallow.Thankfully, his condition was quickly recognized, and immediate action was taken. He received outstanding medical care at United Hospital SP and was later transferred to CKGV, where a dedicated team of miracle workers helped him make a remarkable recovery.Before this life-altering event, Appleby generously became a live organ donor to a friend in dire need, an act of kindness for which the NFK awarded him the Gift of Life Award in recognition of his advocacy. A member of WGA West, Appleby has spent two decades as a Professional Confabulator/Screenwriter in the Los Angeles Film Industry before deciding to return to his roots in Minnesota. He has successfully published and produced a variety of works, including short stories, doggerel, and screenplays.Appleby's talents extend to filmmaking, having written, directed, and shot films that have won awards at international film festivals in cities such as Lagos, Kathmandu, Wexford, and Abadan.
