I use a smooth canvas that allows the alcohol inks to flow when I expose them to droplets of alcohol and splatter when I spray alcohol on them. Metallic inks allow for a splash of reflection in the garden.
About the Artist
I am Devra Goldstein, a 33 year old painter, weaver and mixed media artist with different abilities. I use an adapted Saori loom for my textile work and am known for my luminous alcohol ink paintings. I often work with vibrant palettes, expressing my ideas and emotions through color and texture. The energy of my work compels the viewer to look closer and consider my unique choices. I am inspired by the ocean and love to incorporate shades of blue, purple and silver in my paintings. Though I have physical challenges, I walk and create with the support of my personal assistant and advocate.
