The Grateful Iris
Out of stock
As the sun warms the earth, slender leaves reach for the light, and grateful Iris bloom. Inspired by Van Gogh Iris image on a silk scarf. My visual interpretation of how water, sun, soil and plant collaborate to create the exquisite Iris bloom.
About the Artist
A paper bowl or plate is a sculptural form that becomes the canvas for my art. Objects I cast in paper create images that reflect the beauty of nature. Paper pulp sources I use are either post-consumer paper or renewable plant fibers such as cattail and iris. My art explores the dialogue between the container and what is contained. The images I create open the dialog. As individuals we can choose the objects and images around us. Images cast in my bowls reflect the beauty of nature I see when I look out my studio window. "Life is a gift. No matter the challenges faced, creative activity enriches a person's life."
Art on display at Courage Kenny and online gallery.
