Hot air balloons filling the sky on a clear sunny day. You can see people in the gondolas, amazed at the sights that cannot be seen from the ground.

About the Artist

Doug Miller

My name is Doug Miller. I live in the Northwest corner of New Mexico, just outside the town of Farmington. I was born in England but moved to the United States at an early age. I paint on gourds, stone and canvas.I also use the sandstone found locally, hand-carving thin slabs into tiny bricks for microlithic sculptures that resemble the ancient cliff dwellings that can still be seen today in the Southwest United States. I have PTSD and live in the country where life is a little more calm. Technology triggers much anxiety and I am grateful that I have a friend who helps me with my computer work. My main inspiration comes from the art of the original inhabitants of the land whose art can still be found carved or painted on the sandstone and on pottery left behind by them, the Anasazi.

Location: On Display at Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute and Available Online
