About the Artist

Eric Sherarts

Eric Sherarts began making art as a child and never stopped. Art is part of daily life and part of who Eric is, offering a language for expressing ideas, deep feelings, and lived experience. Through mixed media, drawing, painting, digital art, and mosaic, Eric weaves imagination and an understanding of the world into work that is rich with strong, expressive color. Recent pieces begin with hand‑drawn images, later transformed in a digital studio to build vibrant scenes filled with flowers, homes, letters, and playful forms. These whimsical shapes invite viewers to imagine places where creativity and joy are always present. Eric has Down syndrome, but it does not define him. Eric is an artist and a Special Olympics bocce champion. When creating, Eric feels beautiful inside and out, always striving to make meaningful work for others to see.
