About the Artist
Rosemary Butterbaugh
Rosemary Butterbaugh has been an artist since she was a young child. Throughout her life as an artist, she has explored many mediums including oil, acrylic, encaustic, watercolor, monotype, collage, pottery and even a mural on the side of a two-story building. At times she mixed and matched mediums to find the best way to express the image she wanted to convey. She likes watercolor because “it’s alive and you can really find it have its own voice.” The combination of focus and “being in the moment” is what continues to draw Rosemary to being an artist. Her goal with each piece is to help the viewer become a part of the story told in the painting. Favorite subjects include natural themes, and her garden provided endless inspiration from tomatoes, cabbages and flowers. She also finds inspiration with themes such as loneliness, inclusion, and connection. Rosemary Butterbaugh has participated in Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute programs and services ever since she had a brain aneurysm in 2016. She was in the process of moving from Indiana to Minneapolis, so she could be closer to her family, when she had an aneurysm literally en route. The doctors and therapists at Courage Kenny were instrumental in her healing, recovery and transition to her new home. It is with gratitude to all of them for their care and personal investment in her health that Rosemary has donated this body of paintings to support the Art of Possibilities Art Show & Sale. 100% of Rosemary’s art sold will support the Art of Possibilities. Thank you Rosemary for your generous gift!
